Pendant shaped by hand from bronze clay. The square olive colored zirconia is heat-resistant and fired with the bronze clay. With a tube of bronze clay the pendant eye is made. A tube is easily made with a syringe with a tip of your choice (Just spray the syringe with a little coolslip otherwise the clay will stick in the syringe) or if the tube has to be a little thicker with a pressure plate, also called snakeroller called snakeroller.
Make sure the zirconia is pressed well into the clay, below the surface of the clay. Due to the shrinkage of the clay, the little stone is pushed up a bit during firing. Therefore, if it is not pressed in far enough, it will rise too far above the pendant or even come off.
There are types of bronze clay that can be fired with a hand torch This requires more patience than firing silver clay. Silver clay needs about 2 minutes of annealing, bronze clay at least 10 minutes.
Bronze clays suitable for torch firing are:
Art Clay Bronze,
Prometheus regular bronze clay
Promethens Sunny bronze.
The other varieties can only be baked in a special oven
