Irregular stone setting

Irregular stone setting can be done with setting wire or by making metal clay/silver clay settings.

When using setting wire, first bake the ring and then use 999 silver setting wire to make a setting tray. This setting tray you solder onto the ring with silver solder or you fix it with Overlay paste from Art Clay.

Overlay method: Do not polish or polish the baked-off jewel. It is still white. Then size the setting tray around the stone. Secure the shaped setting tray to the ring with a little spray clay and when that is dry apply about 3 thin layers of overlay paste. Also on the seam of the setting. Bake the jewelry again.

Set stones with the anti shrinkage compound.

Resistant to temperatures up to 900 degrees Celsius

The compound prevents the shrinkage of the clay at the location where the brick/stones are to be placed.

The compound is made of natural materials and is completely safe to use

Using the original stones, form the setting and setting trays from metal clay / silver clay.
Allow to dry and remove the stones before baking.

Mix compound with a few drops of water until you can knead it, like dough.

Fill the resulting empty setting with the compound and allow the compound to dry thoroughly before firing the jewelry.

Make sure the entire cavity is well filled.

Bake as usual.
